This paper examines the demographic projections for Slovakia up to 2030, focusing on the potential shortages of healthcare professionals. By considering factors such as new graduates, retiring doctors, and migrating doctors, we predict a significant growth in the 65+ years population that surpasses the number of available doctors and nurses.
In September 2020, the EU’s Scientific Committee on Health, Environmental and Emerging Risks (SCHEER) published a preliminary opinion (SCHEER 2020) on electronic cigarettes which assesses the risks associated with vaping products and is designed to alert the European Commission to the “potential need for legislative amendments” to the Tobacco Products Directive.
The reunification of West Germany and East Germany took place 30 years ago, ending a period of around 45 years during which Germany had been divided. Following reunification, extensive investments were made in the eastern part of the country in order to even out differences in infrastructure, industrial development and access to education and healthcare.
