Failure to Liberalise Energy Markets Jeopardises Energy Union

The liberalisation and integration of European energy retail markets is still far from complete. Retail competition is weak in many EU Member States. Large regulatory differences prevent the long sought-after integration of markets. To achieve an Energy Union, the completion of a competitive internal energy market needs to be prioritised.
