Research Coordinator
The European Policy Information Center (EPICENTER) is seeking a Research Coordinator to manage the research pipeline of our think tank network.
The successful applicant will be the primary contact between the researchers of our member think tank experts and EPICENTER’s outreach team, ensuring precise and timely delivery of EPICENTER publications, briefings, blogs, and op-eds.
First and foremost, this job requires an excellent understanding of the EU’s regulatory landscape, particularly on environmental, digital, and trade policy. The ideal candidate has a deep commitment to the classical liberal mission of EPICENTER and can understand and communicate complex policy papers in an easily digestible manner.
EPICENTER’s Research Coordinator will:
- Manage EPICENTER's research pipeline – including reports, briefings, blogs, and op-eds.
- Commission briefings, blogs, and op-eds based on EU policy priorities as identified by the outreach team.
- Oversee the joint pan-European research projects with EPICENTER’s member think tanks and partners.
- Help the outreach team keep the EU legislative calendar up to date.
- Write op eds and occasional short briefings on various policy areas, especially on environmental, digital, and trade policy.
- Coordinate the peer review process.
- Coordinate the proofreading process with external editors.
- Typeset briefing documents and coordinate the production of reports with external designers.
- Write and fact-check scripts for social media videos.
- Advise EPICENTER’s Director and Head of Outreach on policy matters.
What we are looking for:
A successful applicant must have outstanding writing and communication skills.
In particular, they will be an exceptional researcher, capable of distilling complex ideas into clear, short-form written output.
They will have a very well-developed understanding of EU policy debates, free market economics, and classical liberal principles.
Relevant professional experience is an advantage, as is being multilingual in at least two official EU languages and having a strong academic grounding in economics, political science, public policy, or a related field. However, we are more interested in ability than credentials and are happy to consider unconventional applicants.
How to apply
Please send a CV to abartha@epicenternetwork.eu, along with:
- A motivation letter of up to 500 words.
- An op-ed of up to 800 words based on a recent EPICENTER publication that you would pitch to a leading Brussels-based media outlet.
- Any previous writing samples or video clips that you would like us to be aware of.
The closing date for applications is midnight on Sunday, 4th January 2026. However, interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis, and we may appoint a candidate before the deadline.
The role would be a one-year contract with an annual compensation of €30,000–35,000, based on experience. The applicant can be remote. We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible, but are prepared to wait for the right candidate.
Internships
If you are interested in European issues, want to use the opportunity to engage in pan-European research and have the necessary basic knowledge about EU institutions, then this opportunity is definitely for you! Speaking additional European languages (French, Italian, German, Spanish, Lithuanian, Slovakian, Swedish, Polish, Greek, Bulgarian, or Danish) is an advantage.
You would be working with a multinational team based in ten capitals of Europe, deliver support for our research team, come up with new social media outreach methods and generally help out our staff by conducting meaningful work. Furthermore, you would have the opportunity to pursue your own research and get published on our blog.
Candidates interested in the opportunity should be able to commit for a minimum three days per week – ideally more – for a time span of at least eight weeks. Applicants are accepted on a rolling basis.
