A major German website called BasicThinking.de features the Nanny State Index that was developed by EPICENTER. This index evaluates European countries according to the degree to which they regulate products such as tobacco, alcohol, and vaping cigarettes. Germany is the least nanny-state nation in Europe as of 2023, ranking 30th on the Index.
